Trevor Wicks Student Travel Fund
This award has been established by colleagues and friends in memory of Dr Trevor J. Wicks, who was an outstanding and generous mentor to many young scientists. Trevor was a Senior Scientist with the South Australian Research and Development Institute, specializing in diagnosis and management of fungal diseases of horticultural crops and grapevines. He was also an Affiliate Senior Lecturer with the University of Adelaide’s School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, where he co-supervised and advised numerous research students. Trevor passed away in August 2016. Contributions to this fund will support research students who are enrolled at an Australian University to further their training in plant pathology through travel to a conference or a short placement in a laboratory in another state or country.
The fund is currently tax deductible in Australia only.
